What Readers are Saying about
The Power of Business Process Improvement

Solid Introduction

I would consider this intermediate level material on business process improvement, especially helpful for a new process owner or analyst. It could be used for a first project also due to the excellent format of a process itself with 10 steps. Plus, it could be used as a textbook for a class since the author includes exercises at the end of each chapter and recurring examples as she moves from step 1 to 10.

Excellent Source of Information

I needed to shore up some of the processes in my business and this was especially helpful at providing a practical guide to going through the "process" of getting that established. I would recommend this to anyone starting a business or trying to rectify an out-of-order workplace.

Great Product

I work at a big consulting company in the Operations business unit. This book has helped me feel comfortable to ask my manager for any project to carry on my own. Now I know how to evaluate them and most importantly, carry them until the end and in the process, improve them.

Real Results

The best part of this book is its ease in laying out an actual plan to improve struggles in your organization....One of the most useful tools provided was the process prioritization table framework.

Best Book Ever

I read The Power of Business Process Improvement 2 years ago, and it is the best book I've ever read so far!!! It was clear, practical and so helpful!!

All Textbooks Should be like This

I was required to read this book as a textbook for a class. It has valuable information, clearly conveyed, and beautiful in its simplicity...it is void of all unnecessary fluff.

Straightforward and powerful

Straightforward and powerful rendition of the basics of performance and process improvement. Well done - This coming from someone thirty years in the business.

Great Primer for BPM

Not all organizations are ready to take on BPM in a big way. For those organizations that just need a little direction and structure to develop more documentation about their business processes, this is a great start!

Very Helpful Book

I am a Lean Sigma leader at an 8 billion dollar a year company. I just finished reading The Power of Business Process Improvement and I think the tools and steps will be a perfect common sense fit with our current project playbook. This book is well organized and puts the right emphasis on achieving quick results that are sustainable for the long run.

For those of you who are struggling or just starting your lean journey, this is an easy read. Buy this book and get started. You will find the concepts easy to grasp.

For those of you who consider yourself an expert in BPI and or Lean, buy this book and be re-energized.

When You Really Have to Implement BPM, use this book as your roadmap

I strongly recommend The Power of Business Process Improvement!!

When you have to get a BPI project underway and you need an easy to comprehend and comprehensive methodology, this is the tool to guide you throughout the journey. Susan Page has a real world in her approach and gives you tools and practical application scenarios to support to drive home the intent of the tool/idea.

The book is effective enough to pick up and start on a BPI initiative and use this as a step-by-step tutorial as you work through the process you are targeting.

Finally, the greatest value may be the post-implementation steps that prepare the process and enterprise to retain the initial investment by guiding the reader/organization on how to maintain the process and for it to remain effective, efficient and adaptable post implementation.

You Must Check it Out

Finally someone has written a book that is very easy to understand and will enhance or develop an individual's skill set as Analyst, Implementation , HR Consultant. Great read very informed. I hope this author comes out with more books and audio books. Great work. This is a must for anyone in HR.

Susan Page's Power of Business Process Improvement is fantastic!
Susan Page generously shares her expertise aimed to assist you in enhancing efficiency, effectiveness and adaptability. Her concise, clear language and examples thrilled the "visual learner" in me and the momentum that's built with each step inspired me to take the next one. Delve into her book, one chapter at a time, and you will surely transform your most important processes!

BPI Essentials: What, How, Why, When, with Whom, for Whom

It took me a while to realize what a wonderful book Susan Page has written.

I skimmed the first half of the book thinking, "I know this stuff, the approach is a bit pedantic" and then increasingly, "that's a pretty good way to do it." The number of "pretty good way to do it" comments mounted until I realized that Ms Page has given us a solid BPI methodology supported by clear explanations of what, how, why, when, with whom, for whom and how long.

My, "I know this stuff" conceit was squashed when I accepted that there was a lot that I did not know, and that Ms Page had supplied me with the essential what, how, why, etc in an encouraging and comradely manner.

The Power of Business Process Improvement has easily repaid my investment in time and money, and has given me great enjoyment in appreciating the art of a master skilled both in her subject and in educating others.
